It has been more than a 1000 years after THE Apocalypse caused by a great world war between humans and monsters. The earth suffered many environmental disasters, eventually not having the capacity to support life. Although the earth was lost, the humans came out victorious... however empty such a victory may be. With Earth no longer capable or sustaining human life, the remaining humans have set out to find another planet to call home. To never forgot the great war, the monsters were forever enslaved to serve the humans until the end of time. They also come in handy when it is time to conquer a new world.
