Escape the Red Giant starts from any planet. The player can move the character using the arrow keys left and right. By pressing these buttons, the character can run around the planet. To reach more planets, the player must press the up arrow key. Since the player can see only a small section of the universe, he must orient himself over the position display on the right side of the playing field. However, the player has to hurry, as the red giant continues to expand and devour everything that comes in his way.
